Favorite Character Friday

FCF has changed! I think there are way too many great characters out there to limit them to just books so start talking about your favorite characters from movies, tv shows, AND books. Show me your favorites!

Favorite Character Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Adria's Musings & Reviews that gives readers a chance to celebrate their favorite characters, because with millions of books, tv shows, and movies out there and more coming out constantly, characters are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

How it works: Every week you pick one of your favorite characters and tell everyone WHY they're one of your favorite characters. Be sure to include where they’re from (Book, TV Show, Movie) as well! Share the love and maybe someone will read check it out and see why that character is one of your favorites! Unlike the Book Boyfriend meme (which was a great meme), your Favorite Character Fridays choice can be male or female and can be from TV or Movies!

Review: Going Deep by Ann Calhoun

Calhoun's book wasn't a bad read but it wasn't a memorable one either and I felt cheated out of a romantic suspense.

Format: .mobi (A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. )
Publisher: St. Martin’s Press
Release Date: November 1, 2016

SHE’LL ROCK HIS WORLD
After weeks on a sold-out tour, singer Cady Ward is coming home for the holidays. But after one too many episodes of fan-craziness, Cady’s manager decides that she needs protection―in the form of muscled cop Conn McCormick. Longing for peace and quiet to prepare before her next album drops, Cady doesn’t need a bodyguard just to deal with some vague email threats…though she can’t deny that close proximity to Conn’s body is a very nice place to be.

Conn is in the midst of a career scandal when his boss assigns him to pop-star guard duty. It’s a poor use of his skills, even though Cady’s feisty nature proves the perfect distraction for Conn while Internal Affairs investigates his case. What begins as a sizzling attraction becomes something deeper than either Conn or Cady could have expected. But when Conn uncovers the sinister plan behind the threats to Cady, he’s faced with a professional dilemma: To save her life, will he risk having a future with the only woman who’s ever touched his soul?

Blog All About It: February!

I really love February to be honest. Aside from December which is my absolute favorite month, February has its own perks. It’s the month of LOVE! Not love in the romantic sense but all kinds of love, family love, friend love, the love you have for a beloved pet, or even the love of simple things in life. February brings it all out!

Tuesday Jams: Wakanda Forever!

Brazen Babe Reviews have this awesome meme called Tuesday Jams where you share a song that you currently love and can't get out of your head (Or in my case, off "repeat" on my iPod). Everyone's welcome to join in, the more the merrier! Be sure to leave your link on their blog post so that others can stop by and see your selection!

So, the one other thing I love just as much as reading? Listening to music! Though the majority of my music is modern country or movie scores, I do listen to a little bit of everything and am always on the look out for more music to add to my collection (You should see my iTunes library, it's HUGE). That's why Tuesday Jams has just become one of my new favorite memes!

Can't get out of my head song(s) this week are: The Black Panther movie score!
I have yet to see this movie (I don't do crowds of noisy people) but I am totally loving the score to pieces! It's beautiful and primal and everything I hoped it would be.

I cannot wait to be able to see this film in theaters.

Product Review: Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish and Top Coat

I haven't painted my nails in such a long time I was afraid I had forgotten how!

Essie Nail Polish is a brand that I hadn't heard of before I got it for review via Influenster. The color I got is called Once Upon a Time, isn't that neat? The color itself is a pretty purple/blue/gray mix that draws attention but isn't a loud color. Coincidentally the color matches a few items in my wardrobe so double win!
